Haw River State Park does not allow camping, however there is a WONDERFUL camping site at nearby Lake Reidsville less than 20 minutes away. You can find directions here.
Lake Reidsville is a recreation facility with a variety of activities offered, open every day for daily activities year round. Reservations for shelters and the campground can be made by calling the lake at 336-349-4738. More information, park rules, etc. can be found here.
Lake Reidsville is managed by the Superintendent of Parks & Recreation, who supervises both Lake Reidsville and Lake Hunt for the city of Reidsville. This recreation facility boasts a 750-acre lake and park that provides many outdoor activities as well as top-notch facilities available for a variety of events. Swimming, however, is not allowed since Lake Reidsville is used as their municipal water source.
Hotels nearby that take dogs:
The Days Inn in Reidsville takes pets, and they are 13 miles away. Their web site isn’t the best for on-line reservations, so we recommend that you contact their hotel directly at (336) 496-2122. Directions are here.
The Biltmore Greensboro Hotel (a rather fancy hotel), also takes pets, only in their king sized rooms or larger, and they are 14 miles away. There web site is here, and the directions are here.
Holiday Inn Express Reidsville takes “service dogs”. I just phoned them and asked if they would take Search and Rescue working dogs coming from CSAR, and the response was “yes”. I would verify this with them again, directly when making your reservations. You can phone them at (336) 361-4000. Their directions are here. Directions can be found here.
